The stadium’s design is based on nine distinct structures, symbolizing the eight native tribes that laid the foundation for Sonora, along with a ninth, representing the present-day Yaquis and the city's modern identity. The architecture features key elements of the local environment, such as exposed brick, neutral tones, and transparent elements that evoke the natural surroundings.
