YANUNA

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

2019

MASTERPLAN

Spanning 280 hectares in Punta Macao, Yanuna is a visionary project inspired by the rich legacy of the Taíno civilization. This destination blends luxury with cultural immersion, preserving the land’s ecological integrity while redefining sustainable hospitality. With a deep respect for nature, Yanuna invites guests to experience harmony, discovery, and authentic Caribbean heritage.

Yanuna’s master plan integrates five hotels, residential developments, a commercial area, and an entertainment district, shaping an immersive destination that fosters both tourism and long-term living. Drawing inspiration from Taíno traditions, the design embraces organic forms, natural materials, and handcrafted details to create spaces that evoke history while maintaining a modern aesthetic. Thoughtful spatial planning minimizes land impact, utilizing existing footprints to preserve wetlands and native ecosystems.

The site’s design follows an "S" shape, harmonizing with the terrain to maximize ocean views and fluidity. Unique features like Anana Gardens—Taíno-inspired educational landscapes—enhance the experience, while a wetlands research center invites guests to contribute to conservation efforts. Every element, from the curvilinear architecture to the handcrafted textures, transforms Yanuna into a living tribute to the Caribbean’s soul.
